Museum of modern art (MoMA)

Музей современного искусства (Museum of modern art, сокращенно MoMA, Манхеттен, Нью-Йорк) - главный музей современного искусства в мире.
Основан (1928) под эгидой семейства Рокфеллеров.
Строительство нынешнего здания было начато в 1939 г., затем (1950-е) его переделали в "интернациональном стиле", реконструкции 1980-х и 2000-х увеличили полезную площадь.
Давайте погуляем по MoMA и помотрим на лучшие картины собрания :)

А через сто лет, этак в году 2128 картины, допустим, 1934 года будут всё еще современными? или как? куда их?

Наверное этот музей переименуют, типа "Музей искусства XX-XXI вв". С 1947 г. MoMA обязали передавать "Метрополитену" картины, "утратившие современность", потом освободили от такого обязательства.
Какую живопись считать современной - это, конечно, вопрос. Даже с кинематографом непонятно, а ему только 1 век... Учитывая возраст, фильмы 60-х дело прошлое? Но многие люди ещё не доросли до лучших из них...

Современная - что появилась при жизни зрителя? Современная ему. А какая была до него, для него уже не ровесница, былое поколение.
