Michele Del Campo (1976) родился в маленьком городке на юге Италии. Когда ему исполнилось 18, переехал в Милан изучать искусство.
Обучение продолжалось в Англии, где Campo получил степень в университете University of Dundee и в Мадриде, где он получил степень Universidad Complutense. Потом художник обосновался в Лондоне (2008), где сейчас и живёт.
У него были персональные выставки в Италии, Испании, Великобритании, Швейцарии и Перу, а групповые по всей Европе, США и Азии. Campo выиграл много художественных премий, его работы широко обсуждаются в западной прессе.
Микеле пришёл к выводу, что фигуративные композиции нельзя выдумывать. Прежде, чем писать сложную картину, он берёт фотоаппарат и снимает реальных людей, пытаясь уловить моменты совместных выразительных поз, близких его замыслу. И только потом, изучив снятый материал, берётся за художественное воплощение исходной идеи.

Хотя знамениты не гравюры Del Campo, а его работы маслом. Микеле пишет попсовый фигуратив, ублажая публику поэтизированным (и часто мыльным) отражением фантазий обывателя. Конфетку этих фантазий заворачивает в фантик натурализма. Что плохого? Смотрится живо.
